There’s a whisper that often rises within us, especially when we’re pouring our hearts into something—the quiet voice that tells us, “It’s still not enough.” No matter how much we give, how much we sacrifice, there lingers that question: “Is this truly enough?” It’s a feeling that pulls at our sense of worth, nudging us to do more, to give more, to become more—always reaching for an elusive bar that feels just out of reach.
But here’s the truth we often forget: this sense of inadequacy is not a reflection of who we are or what we offer. It’s the weight of the impossible expectations we place on ourselves. We live in a world that is relentless in its demand for more. Yet, we do not have to measure our value by those insatiable standards.
In my own journey, I’ve come to realize that the simple act of showing up is enough. That even on days when doubt clouds my mind, and uncertainty takes hold, just being present, offering what I have in the moment, holds more value than I often give it credit for. The voice that says “not enough” is fleeting—a passing thought, not a fundamental truth.
This week, I invite you to challenge that voice. Let go of the burden of “not enough” and replace it with the radical acceptance that you, in all your complexities, are already enough. What you give—whether it feels like much or little—is significant. Your presence, your effort, your heart—all are worthy, exactly as they are.
If you’ve been struggling with the feeling of “not enough,” stay tuned for my upcoming book on navigating joy in every aspect of life. It’s a deep dive into overcoming these limiting beliefs and learning to embrace your authentic self.
Warmly,
Geoff Grant
