We’re all storytellers, even if we don’t realize it. Every day, we narrate our lives—who we are, what we deserve, what’s possible. These internal stories shape not just how we feel, but how we live.
During a particularly difficult time in my caregiving journey, I kept telling myself, “I have to be strong. I can’t fall apart.” That story kept me going, but it also kept me from asking for help. I began to realize: strength doesn’t mean never breaking. Sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is rewrite the story.
So I changed the narrative. From “I have to do this alone” to “It’s okay to need support.” And slowly, things shifted.
This week, listen to the stories you’re telling yourself. Are they empowering—or are they keeping you stuck? If you need a new one, it’s never too late to write it.
We are not our past chapters. We are the authors of what comes next.
If you’re ready to rewrite your own story with more self-compassion and joy, stay tuned for my upcoming book on cultivating joy in your daily life.
Warm Regards,
Geoff Grant
