Today’s message: Design your life around your circumstances, not in spite of them.
I’ve learned that life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect. There are days filled with uncertainty, fear, and exhaustion. Yet, I’ve also come to realize that how we choose to live—even in the hardest of times—makes all the difference. We can’t always control the circumstances we face, but we can control how we respond to them. So, my wife and I made a conscious decision to design our life with intention, to live with purpose, even amidst the challenges.
We travel.
Even when the road is tough, we find moments to step away, to reconnect with each other, and to experience joy outside of our daily routines.
We pause.
In the middle of life’s chaos, we make space to pause—to rest, to reflect, and to be present.
We communicate.
We talk openly and honestly. Communication, especially in times of uncertainty, is the bridge that keeps us connected.
And perhaps the most important of all, we never go to bed upset.
It’s easy to let anger, frustration, or hurt fester. But we’ve made it a rule: before we close our eyes at night, we make sure we’ve resolved whatever might be weighing us down. Holding on to negative emotions only makes tomorrow harder.
None of this means that our life is perfect. But it is intentional. We choose to live fully, even when life is hard. We design our lives around the circumstances we face, rather than allowing those circumstances to design our lives for us.
Warm Regards,
Geoff Grant
