As we move through this season, I’ve been thinking a lot about the ways we expand and collapse our mindsets. It’s easy to think of ourselves as fixed in our beliefs, routines, and ways of thinking—but the truth is, we have the power to reshape, grow, and evolve at any moment.
Collapsing your mindset happens when we get caught in limiting thoughts or beliefs—those stories that tell us what we can’t do, who we can’t be, or how things will always be. It’s not always easy to notice when we’re in this place, but it can show up as feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or resigned. We begin to live in a smaller version of ourselves.
But here’s the beautiful truth: we can also choose to expand our mindset. Expansion happens when we allow ourselves to imagine new possibilities, step outside our comfort zones, and create space for joy, growth, and healing. It’s about choosing a perspective of abundance, rather than scarcity. It’s about believing that, no matter where we are, we can choose a new path forward, one step at a time.
So, how do we begin?
- Awareness is the first step. Simply notice when your thoughts or feelings feel tight, limited, or constricted. That’s often a sign that your mindset is in “collapse” mode.
- Gentle Shift. Ask yourself: What if there’s another way? What if things could be easier, more joyful, or more abundant than I’ve been allowing myself to believe?
- Embrace The Unknown. Expansion often happens when we step into the uncertainty, trusting that we’re supported by something greater than ourselves.
You don’t have to do it all at once. In fact, it’s often the small, gentle shifts that make the biggest difference. So, today, I invite you to take a deep breath and ask yourself: How can I expand my mindset just a little bit today?
If you’re feeling called to explore this further or need support in shifting your mindset, I’d love to connect with you. Let’s start the conversation!
Warm Regards,
Geoff Grant
