Time has a funny way of both grounding us and pulling us in different directions. As a caregiver, I often find myself caught between two realities: living fully in the present moment with my wife while simultaneously preparing for an uncertain future. The clock ticks loudly, yet the moments of now are where our lives are truly lived.
In 2025, we’re constantly reminded of time’s fleeting nature, and it feels like the weight of what’s ahead can overshadow the beauty of what’s happening right now. But what if we could embrace the paradox of time—living in the present while still preparing for what’s next? It’s not easy, but it’s possible to find balance.
I’ve learned that by focusing on the now, while still being mindful of the future, I’m able to find peace in the present. That’s where true healing happens—not in the worrying or the planning, but in the moments we fully embrace.
This week, try to find one moment each day where you can truly be present. Let go of the future for just a second and immerse yourself in what’s here, right now.
Time is precious, but the present is a gift.
Warmly,
Geoff Grant
